MIDDLESEX, NORTH CAROLINA – Betty Gene Stidham Cochran, age 76, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at UNC Johnston Healthcare in Smithfield, North Carolina.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, February 22, 2021 in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, North Carolina with the Reverend David Sutphin officiating.
Betty was born on January 23, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Rease Dority and the late Marie Stidham. She was retired from Dobbs Foods International. Betty enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing Bingo weekly, which earned her the name “Bingo Betty”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Bobby Stidham and her son, Michael Addison Ricker.
She is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Donnie Cochran; three daughters, Kimberly Gayden, Lisa Marie Maier and Shawna Maier Ouzts; step children, Twana Seibert and Jason Cochran; son-in-laws, Danny O’Neil, Dwayne King and Bert Ouzts; daughter-in-law, Kammy Ricker; grandchildren, Erica Strickland, Robin Wheeler, Madison Ricker and Logan Ouzts; great grandchildren, Savannah Strickland, Cole Carpenter and Rexton Wheeler; sister, Pamela Duncan.
