Benjamin Alexandria Johnson

Benjamin Alexandria Johnson, age 97, of Clayton, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Hospice Durham VA. Benjamin was born in Smithfield, NC January 29, 1926 to the late Alex Johnson and Minnie Mae Adams Johnson.

Benjamin was a Machine Gunman in the US Army, served honorably in World War II.

Surviving children Mary Annette Johnson of Angier and Sandra Johnson Hawley and husband L. C. of Smithfield, NC. Grandchildren Thomas Doyle Fairburn, Selma NC, Ginger Coats Meyer, Raleigh, NC and Glenn Rob Coats, Apex NC. Great grandchildren Justin Jablonski, Jason Jablonski and Erica Raftery.

In addition to his parents Ben is preceded in death by his daughter Alice Mae Coats, grandson Michael Dean Johnson, brother’s Glenn Johnson, Rudolph Johnson, Wilton Johnson and sister Doris Johnson Davis.

In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 4075 Little Creek Church Road, Clayton, North Carolina 27520

A graveside service for Benjamin will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 12830 US 70 Bus Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520.
