It is with great sadness that Megan Leanne Ramirez’s family share that she passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 28, leaving us for heaven, March 17th, 2022 - St. Patrick’s Day. The world is a little dimmer today. Megan was a bright light, born on January 20th, 1994. She was loved immensely by her parents and siblings more than words can describe. We couldn't ask for a more amazing daughter, sister, auntie Meg, granddaughter, best friend, niece, cousin, adventurer, hiker, animal lover, compassionate soul, artist, musician, singer, surfer, dreamer, writer, and lover of the ocean.
Megan was a talented, smart, vibrant beauty. Her infectious laughter and smile will always resonate (and be missed) in the minds of all who love her. There was not anything she couldn't achieve and master that she set her heart, mind, and soul to. Megan spent her life loving family and friends, animals, and the outdoors with such passion.
She was successful in all endeavors - both academically and professionally. Megan set academic records in elementary school and graduated high school with honors, excelling in every subject. Athletically, she played basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, and earned her varsity letters in field hockey in high school. A published writer at the age of 15, Megan found herself drawn to interests ranging from veterinary medicine and journalism, to fisheries and forestry and sustainable urban design. She earned four scholarships to four different universities and earned enough credits for two degrees in the Los Rios Community College District.
Megan loved the ocean. Some of her favorite places were on the coast. She frequently visited Carmel by the Sea, Monterey, and Half Moon Bay. In her free time, you could find her exploring nature, paddle boarding on the lakes and rivers, and surfing in the ocean with her faithful pup and companion Scooby at her side. She traveled, camped, and hiked the outdoors, journeying and exploring, at every opportunity.
With a guitar case in hand, Megan was a beautiful singer, songwriter, musician, and more recently, was beginning to immerse herself in the music community, performing for others at various venues. She was also discovering a love and skill for wood working and working with animals in need. She loved to read, write, and was always open to trying new things.
Megan was an animal lover with a compassionate heart. She loved her two cats Bo and Willis and took her companion and pup Scooby Doo with her everywhere she went. She never hesitated to help when help was needed. If there was a fight for what’s right to be had, Megan was all in. She wanted what was best for everyone and was willing to speak up for those who couldn’t.
Megan brought love with her everywhere she went, with a robust energy that was apparent from the minute she arrived and lasted long after she’d left. She made everyone feel special without ever sacrificing who she really was. Megan Leanne’s parents adored her, each establishing strong, unique, and close relationships with her, and while too short, feel grateful and blessed for the 28 years they had with her. Megan prided herself in being the best “Auntie Meg” to her four nieces. She had close relationships and loved the time she spent with her siblings and best friend (and her two beautiful boys) - always making plans for the future alongside them. She lit up a room with her uplifting spirit, had a fire for life, and didn’t let anything or anyone stop her from chasing her dreams.
Megan Leanne was our sunshine; our smart, determined, independent, passionate beauty - our love. She will be remembered by her strong spirit, big blue eyes, bright smile, wild curly locks, boisterous laugh, adventurous heart, and musical talents. She has, and will always continue to amaze and inspire us leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of all she touched on.

My light and life reach like the ocean blue -
Vast, mysterious, teeming with beauty
From within and all I’ve touched on.
Gentle tides ebb and flow out creative melodies
That dance with stirred echoes of a spirited soul.
Always in your hearts,
I will linger with the serenity of a strum,
The reverberation of loving lyrics.
See my soul-filled outreach that reflect
All that shimmers from below to the surface.
Playful tides turn on the echoes of laughter,
Finding glistening warmth on tread upon sands.
My Love for you -
Unending.
Celebrations of Life have been held Privately
Please keep the Family in your thoughts and prayers.
