Olivia Martinez

Olivia was married Juan C. Martinez for 57 years and they had a family of eleven children. She was a long time resident of San Diego County for 42 years. Olivia's passion was caring for her large family. She was a dedicated homemaker and spoiled her children by making homemade flour tortillas everyday, sometimes twice a day! A ritual always followed was that the first tortilla made was reserved for the virgin....she was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith.

Olivia was predeceased by her husband and four of her children. She is survived by four sons, Juan Manuel, Manuel Hernandez , Ruben and Raul, and four daughters, Maria Cristina, Rose Marie, Olivia and Maria Guadalupe. In addition, her legacy includes eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey,753 Broadway, Chula Vista, on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 5 to 9 p.m. A rosary will start a 7 pm that evening in the Serenity Chapel. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Church, 1245 Fourth Ave, Chula Vista, 91911. Her final resting place will be in Tijuana, B.C. at Panteon Jardin.
