LP Dixon was a proud veteran of the Korean War and 60 year resident of Fresno, CA. He passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015, at the age of 84. LP was retired from Northrup-King Company after working 35 years as a Millwright. Born in Ada, Oklahoma on November 1, 1930, LP was the fifth child of Henry William Dixon and Mattie Lou Whittaker Dixon. One of LP’s greatest joys was spending time with his family and he seldom missed a week without visiting one or more of his brothers and sisters. LP served in the Navy in the Korean War alongside his younger brother Eugene on the USS Princeton. LP was a long time attendee of New Covenant Community Church in Fresno, but he loved to go to church wherever his family was in Fowler, Clovis, Chowchilla and Merced. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, the 49ers, the SF Giants and Bulldogs. LP enjoyed traveling with his family and above all loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson and had a special relationship with each and every one of his family members. LP is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Roma, and their children Julie Dixon Wright (Randy), Charles Dixon (Robert), Wayne Dixon (Mindy), grandchildren Amy Wright, Ashley Wright Mayo (Matthew), Ryan Dixon, Ian Dixon, Emily Dixon, and his great grandson Jameson Mayo. LP was preceded in death by his brothers Leonard, Bill, Aubrey and Eugene, and is survived by his brother Truett Dixon and sisters Nina Heffington and Shirley Dixon Cooper (Robert), and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Chowchilla Cemetery commencing at 10 AM, followed by a memorial service and lunch at 11 AM at the Cornerstone Community Church, 208 Fig Tree Road, Chowchilla, California.
