Ruth met her husband Jose in Tucson, Arizona. After a short courtship they moved to El Paso, and married February of 1942, as Jose was a soldier in the US Army and being shipped overseas. After WWII, they remained in El Paso where they raised their three children and helped raise countless nieces and nephews.
Ruth loved cooking and one of her joys was having family and friends at her house. She was president of the Lioness Club of El Paso and also belonged to the Chantilly and Cumbre Clubs, where she was elected to the boards as President and other positions.
Living in El Paso, she studied and obtained her Cosmetology License and was able to open her own beauty shop, which she managed for several years.
Due to a decline in her health, her daughters took her and Jose to care for them in Hacienda Heights, California.
Ruth was a very giving, caring and loving person and her death has left an immense empty space in this world to all who loved her.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Alvarez, her daughters Gloria Irene Ramirez and Irma Z. Alvarez, her grandson, Martin Jose Ramirez and two-great grand-sons, Adam and Aiden Ramirez
