William Franklin Lear Jr.

wife of 67 years, Dorothy Funderburke Lear in 2008.

Funeral services will be held at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in China Grove at 3pm Thursday, June 8, 2017.

Visitation with the family will follow at the church.

Bud was born December 17,1920, to William F. Lear, Sr., and Leona Lineberrier Lear. Bud was a

Nationwide Insurance Agent in Kannapolis for 22 years. He had several jobs before and after

Nationwide and was always busy doing something ... servicing cars, repairing antique picture frames and

appliances. There was nothing Bud couldn't repair. He also loved and took great pride in singing in the

church choir and participating in all other church-related activities. He and Dot loved to dance and visit

the beaches of North and South Carolina.

Bud is survived by five brothers: Ted Lear and wife Loretta of Kansas; Jack Lear of Gastonia; Harold Lear

and wife Miriam of South Carolina; Bobby Lear of Concord; Wayne Lear and wife Sheilia of China Grove;

and sister-in-law Latrelle Hudspeth and husband Gerald of Midland. He is preceded in death by three

sisters: Martha "Maddy" liner; Jerlene Alexander and Gladys Grass.

Bud's children are Karen Rogers and husband Dennis of Salisbury and Cindy Harris and husband Richard

of Cypress, Texas.

Grandchildren are Christopher, Jonathan and Brandon Rogers and Melissa and Matthew Barris. Great-

grandchildren are Justin and Lucas Rogers and Zack and Tyler Rogers.
