Mickey Joe Rogers

Born June 7, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Thurlow Mefford and Margaret Privette Whaley.

Mickey loved to travel, being one always “on the go”. She enjoyed baking, shopping, taking road trips and collecting items that were special to her.

She was a graduate of West Rowan High School – Class of 1962. She had worked as a school bus driver and worked with special needs children.

In addition to her parents, Mickey was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Rogers.; son, Jeffery “Tadd” Rogers; stepfather, Walt Whaley, Sr.; one brother, Don Mefford and one sister, Judy Heilig.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Anthony “Tony” Rogers and Ben Rogers (Gena); daughters, Leisa Norris (John) and Margaret Gaze (Stephen); daughter-in-law, Deidre Rogers; grandchildren, Scott Jordan (Janel), Nathan Rogers (Holly), Trey Shoe (Amanda), Deanna Rogers (BJ), Brandon Linthicum (Rachel), Blake Efird and Alexandria Rogers (Jacob); eleven great-grandchildren, seven brothers and two sisters.

Mickey was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all that knew her.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 6, 2024, from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

The funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM in the Northcrest Chapel of the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
