Michael McCoy "Mike" Honeycutt, 43, passed away at his home, Saturday morning, February 18, 2012. Born October 18, 1968 in Iredell County, he was the son of Jerry and Janie Waller of Woodleaf. A 1988 graduate of West Rowan High School, Mike was a member of Woodleaf United Methodist Church and had been a dedicated employee at Freightliner for 22 years, where he was a material handler. Mike loved all of his family and friends, his trucks, motorcycles, tractors, four-wheeling, mud trucks,raising his cows, working in his shop and being outdoors.
In addition to his parents, family members left to cherish Mike's memory include his daughter, Misty Eagle and her fiance, Josh Freeborn, his sister, Tina Honeycutt Baynard and husband, Jeff, nephews; Jake Everhart, Will Baynard, Jeremy and Matthew Waller, nieces; Brandy and Courtney Waller, step-daughters, Jennifer Foster and husband, Corey and Brittany Smith, his step-brothers, Tommy Waller and wife, Lori and Darrell Waller, grandchildren, Haley "Rabbit" Foster and Olivia Foster, special friend, Carla Honeycutt, uncles, aunts, and many, many friends. Always willing to help others, MIke was a gentle and kind man with a giving and caring soul. He will greatly missed by all of his family and friends and will always be loved by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, Fenruary 20. 2012, from 6-8 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Mike's funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Woodleaf United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Curtis Goforth and Rev. Ron Hartman, pastors. Mike will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
