Linda S Newton

Mrs. Linda Sue Whitley Newton 67 of China Grove went home to be with her Lord on Friday April 18, 2014 at Tucker Hospice House. Born on November 7, 1946 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Ephriam and Nellie Rose Mecimore Whitley. She attended South Rowan High School and South China Grove Baptist Church.

She earned her degree as a Dental Assistant. She retired from K- Mart as a cafeteria manager. Mrs. Newton was a former den mother for the scouts and she loved to write poetry and to read. In additon to her parents, she was preceded by her husband James Langdon Newton in June of 1970. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rodney Newton (Natasha) of Salisbury and LeWanda Arnott (Chris) of China Grove. Brother Phillip Eugene "Pete" Whitley of China Grove, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:00 til 11:00 at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with memorial service at 11 am also at the funeral home.
