Born in Rowan County on April 25, 1928, he was the son of the late Foil Carlton Corriher and Lillian Lipe Corriher.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Glenn Lipe Corriher, Ralph Carlton Corriher, Earl Lee Corriher and sister, Frances Corriher Barringer.
Granddaughter, Charlotte Rae Corriher and Step Great Granddaughter Ariel Bryant.
On February 4, 2022, Harold’s loving wife and companion of 68 years, Margaret Whitley Corriher, passed away. Together they shared many memories and leave behind a wonderful legacy of family and business adventures.
Harold served in the United States Army as a 346 Engineer working with a light equipment company in Germany during the Korea Conflict. He was an active lifelong member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, where he served as a Deacon, Elder, Grounds Committee and Cemetery Committee. He was also very involved with John’s River Valley Camp. He was also a lifelong member of Loyal Order of Moose International.
Mr. Corriher, alongside his wife and family, owned and operated Corriher Sand & Stone Company and Corriher Trucking Company.
Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Glenn Ray Corriher (Angie) and Bryan Whitley Corriher (Tia); one daughter, Darvia Corriher Hodge (Charles); brothers, James Elmer Corriher and Charles Monroe Corriher (Connie) and sisters, Nell C. Cope, Mildred C. Yost (Don) and Judy Safley (James).
He is further survived by his grandchildren, Justin D. Hodge (Megan), Carlton H. Corriher (Ashtyn), Brooke D. Corriher (Ryan Lewis) and Bailey D. Corriher; two step-grandchildren, Josh Simmons (Emily) and Trevor Simmons (Michelle); one great-grandchild, Noah Hodge and one step-great-grandchild, Logan Simmons.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 25, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion United Christ of Christ with Rev. Larry Bolick officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park with military honors.
