Mrs. Annie Belle Burgess, 87, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Born on November 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Will Basinger and Marley Collett Basinger. She worked for many years at Field Crest Cannon Mills in the Finishing department up until her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother, and long-time member at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. She was married to William “Bill” Burgess for 65 years and they raised three children. In addition to her parents, Annie is also preceded in death by her six siblings, Robert Burgess, Geneva Matthew, Audrey Thomas, Katie McManus, Rose Lee Burris, and Joyce Lynch. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, William “Bill” Burgess, her son, Neil Burgess (Lisa), her two daughters; Karen Lambert (Wayne) and Debra Machner, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 12:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M., at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral to follow also at the funeral home at 2:30 P.M., with Pastor Roger Head, officiating.
