It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vivian Maud Hetland (nee Maynard) at the age of 89 years old. She passed away at Cascades Long Term Care on November 12, 2024 after a brave six-year battle with dementia.
She was born July 21, 1935, in Chilliwack, the fourteenth child of Lorenzo Leroy and Audrey Alice (Collinson) Maynard.
Vivian was a devoted Mother, Nana and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her two children, Dale Toop, Wendy (Jon) Mader, her two grandsons, Geoffrey (Brittany), Christopher and great-granddaughter, Kensington. She was also cherished by many friends and family, all of whom will miss her big smile, her giggle, kindness and her caring nature to help others.
Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Norman Hetland, her parents, sisters Alice (Mills), Elsie (Marlatt), Gladys (McCaughan), Florence (Drake), Mavis (Talpey), Bea (Mawby) and brothers Leroy, Delmer, Wes, Dick, Alfred and Fred.
She is survived by sister Mae (Hill) and brother Don. Her many nieces and nephews remember her fondly.
The family would like to thank the amazing caregivers at Cascades Long Term Care Home who provided her with compassionate care for the past 4.5 years.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 21st, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home with reception to follow.
