I am heartbroken to learn about Stephen. This is so painful for you, I know. We lost a daughter to addiction three years ago and I agree with everything you wrote. 

I hope his family can be comforted and will be able to recover from this. I pray you all will be blessed with peace and reassurance.

Our hearts are with yours as we have learned of Stephens passing. We love your family and our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn his passing. Dear Laycock Family. I'm so sorry for your loss. I met Steve when we were just kids and he was always my favorite person to be around. I will never forget his excellent sense of humor, mischievous grin and chuckle and what a truly wonderful person he was. I'm heartbroken that he is gone and for all of his family. Dear Carol and Bill,

I cherish all the wonderful time I spent with Stephen during drum lessons.  I loved his energy, enthusiasm, humour and great musical gifts.  Heartbreaking loss.

It is so hard to lose a loved one at any time. 
But when they struggle with challenges it sometimes makes that harder.  
Having just lost someone who took their own life. It is reinforced more than ever, how much there is a loving Savior who has given a way to release all who suffer challenges on this side of the veil. To give greater peace and a real chance to deal with our challenges.  
With the pain of a passed loved one,  know that there are so many praying and remembering you at this time and that you are loved.

Bill and Carol,
Your obituary touched me deeply because of your courage in calling for the understanding of all of us in dealing with substance abuse.
Having taught many of your children,  and knowing you for so many years, I know how precious all of your children are to you both.

Bill and Carol,  I did not personally know Stephen, but your obituary touched my heart, maybe because of shared experiences.  I appreciate your honesty and the obvious love you have for your son.  Sometimes, as we face trials in this world, we think we are alone in our experiences.  We are not, are we. Steve Laycock. He was such a brave, kind, loyal, loving, inspirational uncle. I love you so much Steve and I always will. Thank you for being so strong and showing me that anything is possible if you put your heart to it. This wasn’t fair that you were taken away, but you are with Heavenly Father and I know he’s happy to be reunited with you. You are not gone forever, you are with us till the end. I’m blessed and honoured to have such an amazing uncle as you Steve. I’m glad we got the chance to share so many good memories that I will remember everyday and cherish for the rest of my life. I love you so much and I will never stop loving you. You are a role model and I wish I could have been there to say goodbye to you but this isn’t goodbye this is a new beginning. I will pray for you every night and always think positive and always be a kind just like you taught me. I Will remember you and what you have taught me and affect it always into my life. I hope you are living peacefully now, I’m wishing you all the best.
