Russ was born in Montreal, Quebec on March 19, 1926. The third eldest of 9 children.
He was a quiet strong man who loved his family deeply and cherished each one of them. A wonderful living example of strong values, integrity, faithfulness and work ethic.
He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years (Fern) and will be sadly missed by his children, Keith (Lil), Terri (Les), Don (Karen) Karen (Jeff), 8 grandchildren, Tamara (Mark), Ryan (Melissa), Sheena, Brent, Jenna, Shaine, Sheldon & Carlyn. 2 great-grandchildren, Eve & Russell. 3 step grandchildren, Ryan, Colin (Elyse), Tamara (Joel) and 4 step great-grandchildren, Lynden, Emery, Lincoln & Silas.
Russ was a veteran of World War 2 and worked 45 years with the Canadian National Railway across Canada, retiring in Chilliwack BC.
He was a kind & gentle soul who was an avid golfer in his younger years, and loved to work in his yard. He enjoyed the outdoors & watching sports. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and a warm welcoming smile.
There will be a private Celebration of Life.
