He was proud of having ridden his Harley across Canada and putting his feet in the Atlantic Ocean. Ron rode his motorcycle many years in support of Fraser Valley Toy Run and was lead Harley many times of the group from Chilliwack.

Ron was member for many years as well as president of Chilliwack Riding Club and rode in Chilliwack Mounted Drill team. Ron met Dianne in March of 1970 through the Chilliwack Drill Team and they married on November 21, 1970. Ron also drove chuckwagon and chariots for years and judged many horse events.
