It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Charles Davis, affectionately known as Bob, who departed this life on October 6, 2024. Born in beautiful Hope, British Columbia on June 18, 1956, Bob embarked on a journey filled with knowledge, curiosity, and love.
Bob was a brilliant educator, who spent his career teaching in Williams Lake, BC before retiring in Chilliwack, BC. Whether he was sharing his love for history, discussing the latest science fiction, debating the finer points of sports, or immersing himself in music, Bob’s enthusiasm for life and for learning was infectious. His students, colleagues, and loved ones alike knew him as a man who brought warmth and humour to every corner of his universe.
Bob’s passion for the final frontier and all things Star Trek reflected his boundless imagination and curiosity for the unknown. He approached life as one would a new planet to explore – always eager to learn about strange new places, new ideas and share them with those around him. Although his health challenges over the years seemingly multiplied like tribbles, his enthusiasm for life never faltered and his faith brought him great comfort.
Bob is survived by his three daughters, Catherine, Michelle (Ryan), and Margie (Chris), and his cherished grandson, Elliot, who will carry forward his legacy of wonder, love, and intellectual curiosity.
As we bid farewell to Bob, we know that his journey does not end here. It continues in the stars, where his love of exploration, knowledge, and family will forever shine.
In the words of Captain James T. Kirk: "Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human."
Rest in peace, Bob. You have boldly gone where no man has gone before.
A memorial tea for Robert will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Henderson's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack, BC V2P2S9.
