Lynda was born on May 2, 1950 to Paul and Majorie Stowell in Mission, BC. Lynda graduated from high school in Agassiz in 1968 and entered the work world. Starting out as a waitress and then moving on to work for BC Tel. Lynda spent nine years as a stay-at-home mom. Returning to the workforce, Lynda worked to retirement for the Liquor Control Board with over 25 years of service. Lynda was friendly, personable, and caring. Many customers sought her out due to her kindness, compassion, and efficiency.
Lynda’s most treasured role was that of mother and, especially grandmother. Lynda was loving, selfless, and strong. Lynda faced many challenges in her life, but always put the needs of her children and grandchildren first. She will be deeply missed.
Lynda was predeceased by her parents - Paul and Majorie Stowell, sisters - Gail Gleig and Laurie Mair, brother - Jack Stowell and son-in-law - Phillip Van Santen.
Lynda is survived by her two daughters - Kristin Van Santen and Courtney Lawrance, four grandchildren - Ariella and Logan Van Santen; Adyson and Travis Mair-Van Santen, brother Doug Stowell (Verna) and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held for Lynda later in March. Details to be announced.
