Lorna Anne Dyck (nee Funk), passed away Sunday Jan 3rd, 2021 at the age of 86 years. Lorna was born May 26th, 1934 in Rosenfeld, Manitoba. She was one of 5 children, she lived in Winnipeg during the earlier years of her life. Lorna and family moved to Chilliwack in 1966. She worked a number of years at Sears Catalogue store prior to retiring.
Lorna had a faithful love for the Lord and was always studying in HIS word. Mom was a long-time member of the Mountain View Church in Vedder Crossing. She was involved and loved working with the church prayer chain and helping share prayers with the congregation. When Lorna was not able to attend church anymore, this was her way to stay connected. She really enjoyed it when the church members would come and visit with her at her home, as well as the group of singers that would come by and sing for her. All of these special visits really made a difference in her day and life, THANK YOU to all of you!!
When Mom was younger, she like to sing and play piano, while Dad played the guitar.
Throughout Mom’s life, the greatest highlight for her was keeping that special place in her heart for all her loving grandchildren and great grandson. Mom cherished every single moment with each one of them, whether it was in person or a phone call. She loved to hear from them and what they were doing, where they were going and thoroughly enjoyed all of their artwork and homemade treats that they made and gave to her over the years, including their all of their open armed loving hugs.
Lorna was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Pete Dyck (2006), and she is survived by her children; daughter Carol Dyck, of Texas (USA); son, Ross Dyck (Carole Lefebvre) of Edmonton, Alta; grandchildren Keith, Tyler, and Stacey Dyck; son Don (Joanne) Dyck of Chilliwack; grandchildren Tiffany (Luke) Bartley and great-grandson Kayden; Jacob Dyck and Jennifer Dyck. Special nieces, nephews, and her special cousins in Winkler.
