Janet Young Sinclair

We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, Jennifer Sinclair on October 10, 2019.

Born in Blantyre, Scotland, Jennifer graduated from school and entered the workforce. In 1960, she met her future husband, Jim Sinclair, before immigrating to Winnipeg, Manitoba with her parents and sister in 1962.

Jennifer spent most of her career as an insurance broker in Hope, BC, until her retirement in 2013.

The most important thing in her life was her family. She was immensely proud of her daughters and she loved to engage with her grandchildren through text and email. She was very tech savvy in her retirement and could often be found online connecting with friends from around the world. The favorite part of her day was the time she spent talking and emailing with her sister, Christine. We will all miss our long texts.

Jennifer was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Jim, and is survived by her daughters, Janet (Wayne), Heather (Sean), and Karen (Patrick), her sister, Christine, and grandchildren, Gregory, Samantha (Cameron), Victoria, Ryan, Max, Erika, Julia, and Kayla, as well as many sisters, brothers in law, and nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at Hope United Church on October 26 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hope Food Bank.
