Jane is predeceased by her husband Frank. Survived by her children Bruce, Sharron (Colin), Kerry (Debbie), Barbara (Fred); Barry (Anne), Kevin (Sherry), 11 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and long-time family friend Penelope Harris.
Arriving in Canada from England in 1949, first living on an orchard in the Okanagan followed by many happy years at Cultus Lake, Mom and Dad moved in with Sherry and Kevin in Sardis. Mom will be lovingly remembered for many things, not the least of which is her intricate creative side. From her drawings of dancing cats and psychedelic birds to her impossibly constructed drift wood wall creations, Mom’s artistic side delighted and confused us all.
Mom’s interests were eclectic. She loved to play Chopin on the piano, she invented stories for her children, she kept a daily journal from her childhood into her last year and even dabbled in rock hounding and coin collecting.
Mom shared her natural curiosity about nature with her family, quick to pull out her bird book to check the species. Our home was always filled with a menagerie of stray cats, wounded birds, and abandoned hamsters. We had them all. And let us not forget her two tiered super insulated cat and dog beds. And heaven help the Cooper’s hawk who dared to attack the back yard bird feeder.
Mom was a wonderful mother who loved and valued her family above everything else. She will be missed.
We would like to thank the staff at Heritage Village where Jane spent her last few months for their kindness and Care.
