Irene Lydia Leis

Irene was born and raised in Richmond, B.C. In June, 1961 Irene married Reinhold (Ron) Leis. In 1963 they entered the ministry and served churches in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. The family moved to Mackenzie, B.C. in 1976 when Ron changed jobs. They retired in 1988 and moved to Salmon Arm, where they enjoyed 30 years of gardening.

Ron & Irene moved to Chilliwack, B.C. in November 2019 to be closer to family. Ron passed away in 2020.

Irene loved to garden; growing flowers and vegetables. Ron and Irene preserved lots of fruits, vegetables and berries for the winter months. She also loved to sew, especially for her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Her love and compassion were expressed to others by volunteering at the food bank, thrift store and being a foster parent.

Irene is predeceased by her husband Ron, parents Julius and Lydia, her brother Lawrence, and sisters Edna, Agnes and Evelyn. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her three children: Glenn (Katherine), Bradley (Ruth) and Janice; eight grandchildren Micaela, Nicholas, Noah, Jordan, Rebekah, Nathan, Amanda, and Taren, and one great-granddaughter, Chanel.
