With sadness we announce the passing of our father, brother, uncle and friend, on Saturday, July 29th at the age of 87 years old.
David emigrated to Canada in the 60’s from Cambuslang, Scotland, excited at the prospect of joining his brother John and fishing the rivers of British Columbia. He was an avid fisherman in Scotland from an early age, and continued his love of fishing by exploring the many rivers and lakes of Canada for more than 50 years.
We will remember Dave for his great sense of humor, his love of Robert Burns poetry, his kindness, humility and tenacity to right a wrong, his ability to remember details and tell a story, and last but not least his love of fishing and spending time on the rivers.
Loved and missed dearly…
A Highland Welcome – 1787 Robert Burns
When Death's dark stream I ferry o'er
(A time that surely shall come),
In Heaven itself I'll ask no more
Than just a Highland welcome.
