I remember Christine as a fun loving, sweet person. She visited our house in dildo/new harbour often. It was always a pleasure to have her.  Thinking of the family, take care.

I met Christine in the mid nineties through work. She worked  with the same compassion,  caring and thoughtfulness that she did in her private life. When my daughter was finishing university as a social worker, Christine took the time to give her guidance. She always had time to help and always with a smile. 
She was such a beautiful soul  who always asked how you and your family were  doing even during her toughest times. She made such an impact on so many people. I will always hold dear the memories and beautiful friendship we shared.

Christine and I met in 1998 and developed a friendship over the years, that  I will always cherish.  We hiked many mountains and she taught me how to kayak. We talked on the phone for countless hours  when provinces separated us and I would visit Chilliwack as often as I could.    She inspired and encouraged me to return  to school.  Christine was incredibly kind and loyal and her priority was always family. I will miss Christine and am a better person for the gift of her friendship. I’m devastated that my beloved cousin lost her unwavering and courageous battle.  Cancer is cruel to take someone so young and full of life; In a just world, Christine would have died an old woman in her sleep with her every present smile on her peaceful face.  

Christine was always that light in the room, she simply radiated joyfulness.  I have many memories going back to our very young years when we could fit three in a bed comfortably.  She taught me how to braid on the ribbons of a tambourine in church, under the watchful eye of our grandfather, to keep me from moving about in the pew.  We spent so much time together over the years, on family vacations or during the summers when I visited Dildo; We biked or walked everywhere, visiting with our great-grandparents and Grannie, enjoying our discoveries along the beaches, investigating old fishing wharves, or exploring the woods between New Harbour and Greens Harbour.  Christine also introduced me to our shared love of easy music; Certain songs still bring me back to her bedroom in Dildo where she sang while playing Keith’s old guitar.  

There was never a mother who beamed more with adoration and pride than her when she was able to bring her twin girls home to Newfoundland ten years ago.  I’ll never forget her genuine, wide smile as I walked in hours late to her baby shower.  That was Christine, overjoyed to see you, no matter if you last saw her yesterday, last month or years ago.  

I’m going to miss you my beautiful cousin.  The world was by far a better place with you in it.  If only love and prayers were enough, you’d still be with us.  

Thank you to Roger and Rosalind for all that you did and continue to do, there are angels on earth.

I was so saddened to read this.  I didn't know Christine but I can say that she's correctly named Nita..she's just like her Aunt Nita. Reach out to each other in your grief, it will help you handle it and while it will never leave you, you will rebuild around that grief.  Hold fast to your memories.
