Marcia P. Vinzons

Marcia P. Vinzons passed away on January 31, 2024, in Chicago, IL. She was born in Daet, Camarines Norte, Philippines to Aurora Pimentel and Fernando Vinzons Sr.. She was known fondly by her family as Tita/Lola Mars. Marcia was a beloved member of the Catholic community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Marcia is survived by her siblings Diana Espaldon (Felipe, late), Liwayway Chato (Wilfredo), Vida, Benjamin, Zilda Alejo (Bayani), Nadia, Charity, and Dominga and by her numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Fernando Jr., Cecilia and Marte (Luisa). Marcia's family was her greatest pride and joy, and she cherished the time spent with her loved ones.

Marcia had a welcoming spirit and a passion to inspire others with the zeal she felt for the Catholic faith. She found a home at St. Andrew Church as a devout Lay Minister but also found spiritual fulfillment in her many travels throughout the world visiting holy sites, attending the ordination of her friends, and spreading the word of God. Her faith was a guiding force in her life and provided her with strength during difficult times.

The viewing service to celebrate Marcia's life will be held at Drake & Son Funeral Home (5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago, IL) on February 11, 2024 from 3 PM until 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church (3546 N. Paulina St.) on February 12, 2024 at 10 AM. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and honor her memory during this time.

Marcia will always be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love for her family, and her dedication to the faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those she touched. May she rest in peace.
