Katherine N. Robinson was born on March 31, 1931, to the union of Howard and Nellie Nicholson (both deceased) in Gary, Indiana. She was the third oldest child in a family of seven children.
Katherine graduated from Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana, around 1948. In high school, she excelled in her typing classes, loved English, and enjoyed participating in extracurricular activities.
After graduating from high school, Katherine began working for the federal government in Chicago, Illinois. She commuted several years from Gary to Chicago on the South Shore train. She was well-liked and respected by her coworkers and supervisors.
Katherine was a very loving and devoted mother to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed entertaining family in her home and visiting them in theirs. She loved God and spent a great deal of her time reading the Bible. Some of her other favorite pastimes were cooking holiday meals for her family, watching TV daytime and nighttime soap operas, and listening to music.
Katherine went home to be with the Lord peacefully on June 14, 2024, at the age of 93. She is survived by her loving twin daughters, Karen and Karla (Joseph), from her first marriage to Julius McGhee (deceased), and her loving son Charles (Amber) from her second marriage to Charles Robinson, Jr. (deceased).
