Eric enjoyed music and played piano, keyboard, marimba, theremin, and the musical saw, and was featured on The Bozo Show several times. He was also a magician. He played at many restaurants and performed downtown with his Tropical Harmony ensemble, in the 70s and 80s. In his earlier years he worked for several manufacturing companies, the last job as foreman in a factory that made water coolers for locomotive engines.
Eric is survived by his devoted wife Candelaria (nee Chay) Muller; survived by his loving children Eric W. (Cheryl) Muller, Jr., Margaret (Glynn) Hoover; devoted grandfather to Stephen (Sarah) Muller and Ehren Muller; devoted great-grandfather to Sebastian and Sandro Muller; he was the dear uncle to Steven (Danette) Muller, Judy Guerrero, Diana Lourdes Guerrero, Tonito Chay, Carmen Chay and many other nieces and nephews; great uncle to Zackary Muller. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Maria (Santiago – deceased) Guerrero, Andrea Chay, Sr. Carmen Chay, Florencia Chay and Miceala (Cristobal) Tuch.
Eric was preceded in death by his brother Harry Muller; his brothers-in-law Francisco Chay, Gabino Chay and Diego Chay.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 4 – 8 pm at Drake and Son Funeral Home, 5303 N Western Ave, Chicago, IL 60625. A prayer service will be held at 5pm during visitation on Friday at Drake and Son. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 4640 N. Ashland Ave., Chicago, IL 60640. Burial will be at Maryhill Cemetery, 8600 N. Milwaukee in Niles. The family has asked that masks be worn during the services.
