Elaine Frangos, age 90, born in Libertyville IL August 31, 1929 passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday April 4, 2020 in Longmont CO. Beloved wife for 64 years to the late Deno S. Frangos (November 9, 1925-June 7, 2014). Devoted mother of Steve Frangos, Sam Frangos, and Delaine Birch. Loving grandmother of Stephanie Frangos, Alex Frangos, Katherine Kreischer, and Zachary Kreischer. Proud Aunt of Christ Harris, Mark Frangos, Michael Frangos and Katherine Kolivas. Loving Godmother to Steve Mitchell, Jean Michalopoulos, Martin Anderson, Paul Raisiamos, George N. Pappas, and Theodore Kekatos. Devoted to family in the fullest sense Elaine sought out her cousins and in the truest sense made her husband's family her very own.
Elaine was a graduate of the Art Institute in Chicago and a founder of St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church (Palatine IL). An equal partner with husband Deno, in all his efforts in life, Elaine worked successfully as his bookkeeper, delivery driver and whatever task was set before her until their joint retirement.
Elaine, through every means, extended herself to her large Greek family of cousins and friends-for-decades who were equal to family. She came to every gathering with a smile, offering to help in any way needed. A life-long needlework artist her embroideries, crazy quilt blankets and other creations were gifts given to all. Her relatives were her friends and her friends her relatives. May her memory be eternal.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Funeral Service will be held privately at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday April 14, 2020, Chapel at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont Avenue, Chicago, IL and Interment immediately following at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL
