Charlotte Nocek, age 95, passed away quietly in her home on November 2, 2019. Born October 20, 1924 in Rzesniowka, a small town in Poland, to Jan and Franciszka Wojtowicz. As her young life was interrupted by WWII and the invasion of Poland, she became a Polish patriot to the core. She joined the Polish Women Auxiliary Air Force under British command where she bravely served from March 13, 1944 until October 11, 1945. Charlotte was the proud mother of three sons: Edward Panek, Zenon (Nina) Panek, and Ted (Linda) Panek, seven grandchildren: Dan (Gina) Panek, David (Genny) Panek, Steve Panek, Lisa (Tim) Haseltine, Bryan (Rosemary) Panek, Jonathan (Hannah) Panek, Matthew Panek, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Maria Fedorowicz, many nieces and nephews, and preceding in death by her husband, Stanley Nocek, dear daughter-in-law, Linda (Edward) Panek, both parents, brother, Andrzej, and sister Jozefa. Rest in peace. You were loved and will be missed by many.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6th, at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60646, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, followed by a chapel service on Thursday, November 7th, at 10:00am.
