I remember Angelo had a passion for singing and living life. I admire that quality. Live every day to the fullest.

Angelo was a huge influence on introducing me to music. I played drums in high school but then I married binky’s sister Michelle. Then we had Cassie and Catie and that was my life and proud of it. Then a few years later I met Angelo and he reintroduced me to music in ways I never knew. Still playing music to this day! Angelo you will always be my brother I love you and will miss you

My memories go a long way with Angelo, 
Jerry Malinski introduced us back in 1995 when we needed a singer. Then 3 bands and a lifetime of memories I gained a brother that I will never forget. So many great times and shared so much great music including jammin with his high school buddies

I never will forget these amazing people and even though our loss was devastating, we will come together and celebrate Angelo’s life. You will always be missed my brother and No  Exit will rise again in your name. Your beautiful wife is honoring your requests and we will blow the roof off that joint by playing loud and proud for you. I love you dearly and rest well. 

I met Angelo and Therese at the same time at a gig. What an amazing and fun couple. Angelo has a heart of gold. His devilish smile and eyes did not reflect who he was as a person. Every time I hear your music Angelo, I will continue to see your huge smile and your incredibly amazing voice. I will miss your FB rants and apologies to those you thought you offended.  Thank you, my friend, for supporting me during my cancer when others did not.  Thank you for supporting me during my divorce and not taking sides. I will miss you. 

I love Ang like a brother. We first met at an audition in the basement of a south side bar called J&D's in 1989...first song we played: "Hollow Man" by the Cult...when he began to sing he lit up that dark space with his luminous voice and floored everyone in the room!!!...and he won everyone over with his warm, hearty laugh and the devilish gleam in his eye which, in terms of star power, could often match his lovely voice. As younger men, The Skeletones was our gang for many years. And while life took us in different directions, over the past few decades we managed to create and share lots of music and have remained friends throughout our lives. On my annual visits to Chicago, we always made time to play music and share a meal with old friends and laugh...a lot...Nothing can replace his absence, as Angelo was special to so many of us.

As devastated as I feel, I know that Therese and the Negrette family must be in even deeper stages of grief.
I want you to know how fortunate I feel for having shared so much with Angelo. My heart goes out to all of you.

You enriched our lives in so many ways and I will miss you my friend.

Angelo has made such an impact on my life by always being a fun and caring role model. As a young boy, Angelo always made the effort to hangout with me whether it was karoaking to Beastie Boys, being the DJ at my 8th grade graduation party, or being there to watch me marry my bride on the same day he married Therese, years earlier! More recently, I cherish the time I was able to spend with Angelo out at dinner in Palos bonding over our Thrift store deals and rating our favorite southside pizza places! Angelo, you were one of the most caring individuals I’ve ever met and I am so proud and happy that you were such a large part of my life! Lauren and I love you, and you are so missed! Rest In Peace! 

I met Angelo when he was singing with my son Jimmy Weazel...saw him sing with the band and saw him and Jim play unplugged too.  He had a great voice and would put his all into holding that 🎤.  Became FB friends how long ago I can't remember but immediately began looking forward to his memes, political opinions & backlashes, his daily observations, pics of good food and just FB banter on a daily basis.....damn Angelo you didn't get the time to write your memoirs.  Miss ya buddy and for me FB just isn't the same.  Now who can I BS with about being old 😥

Once an L7/Beastie Boys show at the Aragon was sold out. We went around back and saw my friend Donita from L7 walk in. That door was locked but then we went down a long dark stairway and found ourselves in the concert area! We quickly shut the door and laughed hysterically! We got in for free! He was such a talented singer, but did you know he could play Blackbird perfectly on guitar? Or that he was the drummer for Stabbing Westward before they got big? I loved him like a brother...

Angelo was my friend since 1979, my musical partner, my confidant, and one of the sweetest, nicest guys ever.  He was an enormously talented singer, but did you know he could play a perfect version of Blackbird by the Beatles on guitar? Or that he was the drummer for Stabbing Westward before they got big?   We had many adventures together. Once an L7/ Beastie Boys show was sold out, so we went looking for my friend Donita Sparks from L7 around back to let us in. Just as we turned the corner we saw her walk in. So we tried that door but it was locked. Then we saw a long, dark stairway that went down. We followed it to a door, pushed it open and we were in the concert area! We quickly walked to the bar bought a couple beers, looked at each other and laughed hysterically. We had gotten in for free. We both never forgot that! To me, he'll always be that handsome guy standing to my left singing that great high note at the beginning of Highway Star and nailing it! And so much more...

When I was a teenager, I used to go watch Angelo's band, Tangent, practice very often because I had a crush on one of his band mates. Awe, so many years ago when we were young! He was such a fun guy with an amazing voice - we all liked him! Such a big heart. We'll miss you, Angelo.



I  first met Angelo when I was 17 years old. Me and a band  mate ( Steve Robinson) from the band Drift Wood   was looking to put another project together. Somehow we contacted Angelo and set up a meeting to talk about it. The meeting took place in a Chicago Ridge apartment building in the laundry room. From there we went to see a guitar player friend of Angelo's ( Billy Cherry ) and then finally found a drummer (Scotty Blackman)  we called the band TANGENT and although we where only together for a couple of years we remain friends through life. Always talking about a reunion . Angelo was one of the best guys I have ever met, he was  in high spirits and kind and the dude could sing his ass off . He will be greatly missed ♥

Oh boy from the moment I met Angelo we became fast friends. The zest for life the music the hobbies the so much in common we laughed all the time. I would look forward to the lil things he would say and do that always made me laugh. He was one of a kind. I’ll miss him dearly. Rest easy buddy! 

I met Angelo through Jim Karones and Steven Reimer. Angelo was a fun guy and he and I shared lots of fun stories about items at thrift shops. He was going to be the DJ at my and Stevens wedding and was looking at Savers and Neat Repeats for items for unique items for our wedding and said he would play any song we wanted as long as it wasn’t some disco stuff or the chicken dance.  I said I’ll make sure we all request that type of music. We had a good laugh. Now every time I go past those stores I will think of  him and smile.  You will be greatly missed. 

I first met Angelo in 1977. We went to school together for 6 more years.  I remember when Finley Jr high had a massive food fight.  He was not far from me when I was ducking the food.  He jumped up nailed me with something right in the head.  We laughed our Asses off.  We lost track of each other until facebook.  He and I didn't always agree on the site but he was always kind and good hearted.  I miss seeing his posts everyday.  I miss MY FRIEND!!! 

I met Angelo through mutual friends I met through a singing competition. Well, Angelo invited us to the VFW for karaoke one night and it became a regular thing. Angelo was anything, but regular. I am still trying to process this. It is just unbelievably surreal. May he rest in peace. 

I met Angelo around 1989 when he checked out my band that was looking for a singer. I just recently ran across an old cassette tape he brought down of a song called "Falling". I will definitely be putting that in a safe place. He was a funny and passionate guy and will be missed by many. 

Remembering when we went to go see RUSH, 5 row what a blast...  The Trytan days will always stay with me.. Always disagreed on Politics.. lol but it always ended in I lov ya Cuz..  See you on the other side.
