Patty (Mary) Sustar (nee Donovan), 64, of Newbury, OH, entered eternal rest on August 27, 2023 after fiercely fighting cancer for 16 years. Patty was born on Nov. 24, 1958 to Mary and William Donovan and graduated from West Geauga High School. After graduation, Patty got her first job at Hillcrest Hospital and, forever loyal, remained there until she retired as Supervisor of Medline in 2022. Family meant the world to Patty, and she took pride in being a loving sister. Referred to as “Momma Bear,” she was a woman of unrivaled courage who would do anything for her children, Mark and Michelle. Patty adored birds, especially cardinals, and was happiest surrounded by flowers. She, herself, was a true piece of sunshine, and her zest for life was unmatched. She was the definition of selfless, and deeply admired for her overwhelming strength.
Patty is survived by her son and daughter, three sisters, Laura (Chris) Vatty, Nancy (Joe) Zuccaro, Sue Iacona, and brother Bill (Debbie) Donovan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her light, love and positivity will be deeply missed by all.
Visiting hours will be held at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home located at 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland 44026 on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 10AM until 12 noon.
