Born July 21, 1947, in Cleveland, he had lived in Mentor Headlands for three years before moving to Chardon 30 years ago.
Kenneth was an avid fisherman and tied fishing flies and sold them to local bait shops. He enjoyed reading, studying and learning about weather, and coaching his children's teams.
Kenneth was director of adult services for the Lake County MRDD. Previously, he had worked for the Ashtabula County MRDD; Youngstown MRDD; Lake County MRDD; and Metzenbaum Center, with a total of 30 years service in the MRDD field.
Survivors are his wife of 38 years, Elaine; children, Matthew (Karlene), Christopher (Erin), Mitchell, Kimberly (Lucien) Pruszynski and Jason; grandchildren, Devin, Sydney, Andrew, Julian and Dax; mother, Dorothy Wiegand; and sister, Cyndi Walker.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Wiegand.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 11900 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at the church. The Rev. George Zehnder will officiate. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kenneth's name may be made to the Deepwood Foundation Community Activity Fund, 8121 Deepwood Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
