Jon D. Woodworth, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023. Jon was born to the late Sheldon and Blanche (nee Peck) Woodworth on July 23, 1938. Jon was a resident of Chesterland for most of his life. He graduated from Cleveland Heights High School, Class of 1956. In his younger years, he volunteered at Hillcrest Hospital with his mother and enjoyed being around people.
Jon enjoyed bowling, activities at the senior center, listening to music, and vacationing in Florida. In addition to his parents, Jon is preceded in death by his uncle, Gordon Woodworth, whom he was very close to and a cousin Penny. Jon’s memory lives on with his cousins Patty and Leslie, both of Florida; his “adopted” family Adele Sabo (husband Ed) who cared for him for many years; “adopted” brother Brian Arndt; and many friends who loved him. Jon will be missed dearly in the days to come.
Visitation will be held at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home located at 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland 44026 on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 9am until 11am. Celebration of Jon’s Life will follow immediately at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve in Jon’s memory.
