It is with great sadness that the family of Brian Wedge announces his passing on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the age of 53. Brian will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 18 years, Laura, and his son, Riley, as well as family and a multitude of friends, who cherished him. Brian was predeceased by his father, M. Keith Wedge and his mother Harriet Wedge (nee Palmer). A resident of Macedonia, OH and a native of Painesville, Brian attended Chardon High School where he met the love of his life, Laura.
Brian had a variety of skills and hobbies. He was the guitarist for numerous bands (Stardust, Generation Rumble, Red October, Primary, Waterworks, Billy Likes Soda and The Escape Plan); was an outdoor enthusiast, avid skier, bowler, and over the past 40 years, he was the Creative Director/Graphic Designer for international tours, exhibits and events that included David Copperfield, Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Tape Face, Janet Jackson, NSync, The Titanic Exhibition, The Princess Diana Exhibit, and The Akron Rib and Music Festival. Brian was a dedicated 24-year Ski Patroller, and served on the boards of the Alpaca Fiber Co-op and NORCAR. He also shared his acute set of skills in design by mentoring an art college student. But, out all of his many accomplishments, Brian was most proud of being a husband and a stay-at-home dad with Riley. A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11am at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, OH 44026. Visitation is at the same location on Fri., Feb. 15 from 6pm - 8pm and Sat., Feb. 16 from 10am - 11am. An after service reception for family and friends will be held at Chesterland Tavern. Those who so desire may make memorial donations to the family for Riley’s college fund at the funeral home.
