Shirley retired from East Ridge Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Other than her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, William Clarence Kurtz and Lilly McConnell Kurtz and a brother, Richard Kurtz.
Survivors include by her daughters, Cynthia (Kerry) Brockway and Sherri Hatch; grandchildren, Jack and Jasmine Hatch and a nephew, Jeffrey Kurtz.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
The family will have a private interment.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
