Ruth Lillian Rogers, 90, of Ooltewah, TN, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 in a local hospital. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, she and her late husband, A.D. Rogers owned and operated Rogers Grocery on Highway 58 for many years. A member of the East Chattanooga Church of God, she was the wife of the late, Arthur D. Rogers and was the daughter of the late, Henry Grady and Laura Beth Taylor Jones. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brown and Jewel Lumpkin and a brother, Grady Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Pat Burrell, Collegedale; three sons, Arthur Grady (Red) “Adeline” Rogers, Harrison, TN, Harry “Ann” Rogers, Ooltewah, and Jerry L. Rogers, Ooltewah; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Deanie Mays, Dayton, TN. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Harrison Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Gilbert officiating.
