Mr. Robert Varnell Hudgins, Sr., was born December 18, 1949 and departed this life March 10, 2019 at The Bridge in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Robert was educated in the Hamilton County School System, and was retired from the Chattanooga Gas Company. Brother Hudgins was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Burt; father, Claude Davis; daughter, Stephanie Hudgins; sister, Carmen Hudgins; grandson, Demar Hudgins; grandparents, George W. Hudgins and Rosa Lee Hudgins; aunts, Mary McCollum, Ruby Lee Hudgins, and Bernice Bruell; uncles, George E. Hudgins, Sr., and Willie J. Hudgins.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert Hudgins, Jr.; brothers, William C. Hudgins, Thomas (Earlene) Hudgins, Doc (Mary) Boswell, Ronnie Hudgins, Kenny Hudgins, and Leon (Joyce) Hudgins; sisters, Regina Hughes, Neccie Miller, Jacqueline (Kenneth) Phillips; uncles, Leon (Julia) Hudgins, James (Peggy) Hudgins; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; best friends, Willie Wells and Wayne Pinkerton; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, March 18th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in the Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 1724 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 19, at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
