Robert Lee Davis, 83, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014. A native of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, he attended Nathan Bedford Forrest School. He was a member of the Standifer Gap Baptist Church and was retired from Duracell USA in Cleveland, TN. He loved gardening and being able to share his vegetables with his friends and neighbors and loved fishing, football, basketball and westerns. He was the son of the late Mordecai and Dena Mae Creek Davis and was also preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Della Thurman Davis; his siblings, Daisy Eledge, Bonnie Davis, Frank Davis, Kathleen Pugh, Maybell Adair and Lizzie Noblett. Survivors include his son, Robert L. (Donna) Davis, Jr.; daughter, Teena D. (Billy) Craig; grandson, B.J. Craig; brothers, Jessie Davis, Sam Davis, and Carl Davis; sisters, Frances Kitchen, Judy Foster, and Addie Youngblood; several nieces and nephews and his beloved friend, Jackie Ford. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Loveless and the Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, East. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
