Richard Dale Rank, 78, of Ringgold passed away on Sunday August 19th. Richard was born on February 10th 1940 in Lincoln, NE. He graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School in 1958. After graduating, he joined the Navy and served honorably aboard the USS Forestall completing his military service in 1962. He retired from Siemens Stromberg Carlson and moved to Ringgold, GA in 2006. He was a devoted family man always putting family first. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a long-time member of the Single Action Shooting Society and The Lake County Pistoleros where he was known by the alias of Six Gun Law. He was a member of the American Legion Post 400 of Dalton, GA. He was a proud American with a deep love of country and the values and ideals on which it was founded. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Barbara, sons Robert and Brett, grandchildren Darlene and Richard, great grandson John.
The memorial service will be held at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN on September 7th at 1:00 PM with American Legion Chaplain Phil Sumrall officiating. Full military honors provided by the Navy and American Legion Post 905.
