Richard W. Freeman, 80, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at home. A native of Phillipsburg, PA, he has been a resident of the Chattanooga area most of his life. He was retired as a professional painting contractor and attended the New Haven Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan freeman; a daughter, Donna Fitzwater of North Carolina. Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Connie (Dale) Lyons, and Barbara (Mark) Fritts all of Ringgold, GA; two sons and their wives, Donnie (Roxanne) Freeman, Chattanooga and Richard (Angela) Freeman, North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Schrader officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
