Neva Jo Casey

She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Reno. Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years Herman (Gene) Casey; mother Esta Simmons Reno; three sons, Kevin (Wanda) Casey, Ken (Susan) Casey, Kirk (Tina) Casey; one daughter Karen (Mike) Mallett, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, one sister Nancy Chambers; two brothers Butch Reno and Ernie Reno.

As a member of Silverdale Baptist Church, she faithfully served her Lord in many ways; music, missions, teaching and mentoring. Compassion and mercy were her garments as she lived to serve others, from spiritual guidance to cooking and canning to a hug around the neck. After her Christ, her grand-children and great grand-children were the joy of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Silverdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Walliser, Rev. Eddie Wilson, Rev. Ernie Reno, Rev. Wade Casey, Bryan Casey, Rev. Kirk Casey and Rev. Mike Mallett officiating. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Silverdale Baptist Prime Timers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made in her memory to: Martin-Boyd Christian Home, in honor of her mother Esta Simmons Reno, who is a resident there. Memorials may be sent to Martin Boyd Christian Home, 6845 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
