Mary Catherine Slaughter

this life for her heavenly life on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, after a lengthy illness at home

surrounded by family and loved ones. Mother Slaughter was a devoted and faithful member of

Faith United Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie and Louise Reel and her devoted friend and

husband Tommy A. Slaughter. Her memories will be cherished by three sons: Thaddeus

(Desia), Gregory (Angela) and Bennie (Annette) all of Chattanooga. Two Daughters: Marilyn

(Willie) Johnson of Virginia and Tanya Lewis of Atlanta. One beloved sister, Mrs Emma Jo Ballou

of Ooltewah. 10 grandchildren: Tawonda, Torrance, Tia, Oterious, Renita, Xiavion, Matthew,

Little Tia, LaKesha and Donnie and 5 great-grandchildren. Devoted friends, include Henrietta Griffith,

Melvie Chatman, Riley and Paulette Walker, Melba Brown and Linda Collins. A host of other

relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 10, 2017, 1 – 7 PM, at Advantage Funeral & Cremation

Services. Services will Monday, September 11, 2017, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Advantage

Funeral & Cremation Services. Burial: 12:30 PM at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
