She was a native of Maryville, TN where her favorite memory was going to the Alcoa Swimming Pool.
She was a graduate of Ringgold High School and attended ETSU. She was working in the Ringgold Tax Office when she met Max H. Scott on a blind date and married him 6 months later on June 20, 1953.
She and Max were charter members of South Seminole Baptist Church and she was a longtime member of Brainerd Baptist Church.
She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook and loved having her family gathered around the table. She loved to swim, to decorate her house and to watch the Atlanta Braves.
She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Ruby Crain; husband, Max H. Scott; sister, Betty Phillips; and brother, William Crain.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Marshall) Harvey of Ooltewah; sons Chip (Debbie) Scott of Crab Orchard, TN and Joe (Barbara) Scott of Winston-Salem, NC. Grandchildren: Meredith Scott, Evan (Samantha) Wilson, Scott and Rob Harvey, Will and Sam Scott. Great granddaughter Finley Noel Wilson. Numerous nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Monday, June 6th at 11 am. Officiating will be Rev. John Phillips, Marion’s nephew. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cumberland House 30 East Adams Street, Crossville, TN 38555.
