Malakai is survived by his parents, Samuel and Jaclynn Roberson; siblings, Zaan, Asher and Avalyn; paternal grandparents, David and Pamela Roberson; maternal grandparents, Greg and Tammy Young; great grandmothers, Lena Roberson and Anna Palmer; great grandfather, Ralph Young; uncles, Tony Grimes, Brady Young, Kristian Carver and Keith Young; Aunts include his aunt Cheryl Carver, Aunt Stephanie Young great great aunt Shirley Scroggins, great aunt Shirley Graham, and great aunt Gail Farrell; Cousins, Misty Henderson, Thomas Carver and many other cousins and friends who love and miss baby Kai.
Malakai August was a carefully chosen name meaning the great messenger of God. Malakai loved to dance to music especially the song "song of the south" by the band Alabama. Malakai was one of the most joyful babies you would ever meet with his whole face lighting up the room with a smile and giggles that could make even the grumpiest of people laugh. Paul tells us in Phillipians 1:21 "for to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain".
Malakai embodied this perfectly because he is a gift from Christ Jesus as we read in Psalm 127:3 "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him". With this said we have the confidence that Malakai is with Christ. Jesus said in Matthew 18:1-3 “At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, ‘Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’ ”. These verses give us hope that we will meet Malakai at the last day. Praise you God for the privilege of having baby Kai in our lives.
A Visitation for Malakai will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bayside Baptist Church, 6100 TN Hwy 58, Chattanooga, TN 37343.
A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM.
