Maggie Jean Edwards

Originally from Selma, Alabama, she moved to Chattanooga in 1953. She was married for 66years to J. Clyde Edwards and they shared the same birthday, March 25.

She was one of the Hamilton County first Kindergarten aides at Apison Elementary in 1974. She volunteered for 24 years at Boo at the Zoo and was a faithful member of the Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by twin brother, and 2 sons, Jeffery and Marcus.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Sandra (David) Winkles; granddaughters, Rachel (Andy) Carroll and Hannah (Josh) Terney; grandson, Matthew (Allison) Honeycutt; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Westview Cumberland Cemetery.

A celebration of life service will be Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Silverdale Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

The family extends a special thank you to Avalon Hospice Services and all the prayers from friends.
