Mr. Davis was born in Chattanooga and raised in Ooltewah. He was a graduate of Ooltewah High School (Class of 2000), of Chattanooga State Community College (CSCC), and of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). John was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the honor society for two-year colleges, while at CSCC and the Golden Key International Honor Society while at UTC, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in legal studies. His work experiences were widely varied, including cooking at Waffle House, helping customers at Petco, delivering mattresses, and concluded with applying his long experience in and around farming by caring for one of Walden Security’s properties. John was a member of Ooltewah Baptist Church. His hobbies and interests included the San Francisco Giants, caring for his and others’ dogs and cats, he loved to cook and write, and was known to consume nonfiction books endlessly. He spent his free time with his grandparents.
He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Davis; mother, Victoria Ray; and grandfather, Charles Davis.
Surviving are his sister, Cindy (Adam) Carmean; grandmother, Virginia Davis; and uncle, Neal (Virginia) Davis.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM on Wednesday, June 16th at the funeral home.
A Graveside Service will follow on Thursday, June 17th at 10 AM at McDonald Cemetery on Snow Hill Road (between Greenwood and Mahan Gap roads) with Rev. Michael Bradley officiating.
