Jesse E. Presley

He was born on November 13, 1940 to the late Jesse and Corrine Presley. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Jesse Carl Presley, James Presley and identical twin brother, Jerry Presley.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Pauline Presley, son, Greg (Dana) Presley, daughter, Pamela Presley, grandchildren, Ty (Mary) Presley, Danielle (Grayson) Dunn, Drew, Alec and Trevor Sims, sister, Linda (Max) Taliaferro, brothers, Bobby Thomas, Joseph Presley, sisters-in-law, Joyce Teets, Beatrice Davis, Madge Presley and many nieces and nephews.

Jesse was an accomplished amateur athlete. He was a two-time Georgia State Champion boxer and multi-year Golden Gloves Champion. He was also an All-State shortstop on the Berry Academy baseball team. He was recently inducted into Berry College/Academy’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Jesse was also a beloved coach to the youth of our area, especially the kids of the Bonny Oaks School. In his senior years, Jesse competed and medaled in several Senior Olympic events at the local and state levels.

After marrying Pauline, Jesse returned to Chattanooga and graduated from the University of Chattanooga with a degree in accounting. He worked in the carpet industry in the Dalton area for many years before retiring from AIG.

He was a member of Oakwood Baptist church.

Jesse loved to do many things, but what he loved most was to spend time with his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
