Jeannie was preceded in death by her father: James Alton Roper, mother Madeline Reattoir, stepfather Claude “Butch” Reattoir, and sister Janet Suggs. She is survived by her Husband Kevin Whitfield of Destin, Florida, brothers James (Jane) Roper of Decatur Tennessee, Johnny Roper, and fiancée Desiree Graham of Ringgold Georgia, children Valarie Redman, and fiancée Chris Leffew of Cleveland Tennessee, Kenneth Zachary Redman of Cleveland Tennessee, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Jeannie (whom everyone referred to as “Fabulous”), had an amazing sense of style. She loved shopping and had a unique ability to recognize brands with good quality and value. Jeannie always took pride in her appearance and graced every social setting with elegance and grace and treasured each and every friendship along her journey. She loved the beach, the Dallas Cowboys and had an incredible green thumb. She enjoyed drawing, painting pictures, and decorating / remodeling designs for their condo in Destin. She will be truly missed by many friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 7th at Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory Florist-Valley View Chapel located in Chattanooga Tennessee. The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Per Jeannie’s wishes in lieu of flowers those interested are asked to donate to a cancer institution of their choice.
