We’ve been so blessed to live next door to Janie and Wayne the past 6-1/2 years. A lovely couple and beautiful family! Watching them with the girls regularly playing outdoors was always a joyful sight.  Our prayers are with Wayne, Shawn, Natalie, Vi, Piper, Jamie’s mother and siblings and all who love her.   We give thanks for the life of Janie Murdock Shipley. 

I worked with Janie at the Tennessee Aquarium she was a wonderful consistent friend. Her loving demeanor will be missed. Condolences and prayers to her family, and friends. 

Janie Shipley was a wonderful person who seemed to always light up a room. She brought much joy and sunshine to those who knew her. She was a blessing in the lives of many. 

Our thoughts and prayers continue with her sister Melody, her husband, Wayne, her son Sean and his family, and Janie’s mother. May God continue to bless each of them at this time. Love and blessings, Ralph and Pat Coggin

Janie loved new cars. We would always joke about how she would often drive up in something new, and I’d never know which one was hers. She sure did look good driving them though! 

The highlight of my day, week and/or month was when I could meet up with Janie for lunch and catch up on each other’s lives. She would eagerly show me pictures and videos of Vi and Piper, tell me about trips they were planning, and what is happening in general. It was the time when she would recommend the best books, shows or movies and  offer her sage advice to me about anything that might concern me. She would often talk about how lucky she was to have Wayne as her husband, describing how hard he worked and how devoted he was to her without complaint. She would talk about Shawn and how proud she was of him and how happy she was that he found Natalie and what great parents they are. She would talk about her dear sister Melody and going to visit their sweet mom in Oak Ridge. Clearly, her family was everything to her. 

Janie will forever be one of my favorite people. No one can replace her. My heart breaks for Wayne, Shawn, Vi, Piper and her entire family. My most sincere condolences and prayers for comfort to all the family.

I met Janie almost 30 years ago when I started at the Aquarium.  She was always the one in the office who seemed to know the answers to exactly what you needed - “our great source of reference!”  We eventually worked in side by side cubicles at the IMAX and always had great fun. Laughter and joy were commonly found when Janie was there. 

Janie & I have been friends for 25 years. She was a remarkable woman. One of my favorite things about her was the way she loved Wayne. I’m sending love & hugs of comfort to him and the whole family. 

So grateful for our friendship. I loved working with Janie at the Aquarium and will miss her greatly.  She was a dear friend - a funny, kind and  beautiful soul. My heart and prayers are with Janie's family and loved ones.

Janie and I worked together at the Tennessee Aquarium, where she grew her talents from serving as administrative assistant all the way to THE webmaster. I was so proud of her. I miss you already sweet friend. 

Janie was a LOT of fun. I’ll miss her laughter and sweet smile. She was one in a million. I’m sending love and hugs of comfort to her family. 

Dear Shipley Family,   Jim and I send our deepest sympathy  to all of you in your loss of Janie.  It was a delight to have met her on several occasions  and , Vi and Piper, you all shared may wonderful stories with us  about her.
