Janae Joy "JJ" Wong

Janae Joy (JJ) Wong, 7, passed away on December 29, 2023, in Chattanooga, TN.

She was born on April 11, 2016, in Dayton, Ohio, to her parents, Jeremy and Brooke, who counted her one of their greatest joys as they were early on in their life of ministry.

In her life, Janae lived vibrantly and passionately. Above all else, she loved Jesus. She spent time in His Word with her family and His gentle character shined through her in everything she did.

She loved playing with and loving on her little brother, watching football and Dude Perfect with her dad, and was always her mom’s cheerful sidekick when preparing and hosting children’s programs through the church and home.

She attended the second grade at Ooltewah Adventist School. She rarely had a bad day, and her smile could brighten any room. She loved to read and was eager to learn about the world around her. She was a kind and intentional friend to all. Even at home, her tender heart cared for her dogs, cat, rabbit, and chickens.

She is survived by her parents; brother, Samuel; grandparents, Douglas and Cheri Durst and Alan and Lian Wong; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Janae Joy Wong Scholarship Fund at Ooltewah Adventist School, 9209 Amos Road, Ooltewah, TN 37363.

The family will be receiving friends from 12 - 2 PM and 4-7 PM Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Collegedale Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, 9305 Four Corners Place, Collegedale, TN 37363.

A celebration of Life Service will be held for JJ at 3 PM Saturday, January 6, 2023 at the Collegedale Community Seventh-day Adventist Church, 9305 Four Corners Place, Collegedale, TN 37363.

A Committal service will be held at 8:30 AM Sunday, January 7, 2023, at the McDonald Eastview Cemetery, 8004 McDonald Cemetery Road, Ooltewah, TN 37363.
